Fort Orange District is one of six districts in the Twin Rivers Council. The district covers Albany county and includes a Scout Reach area covering the city of Albany's inner city area.
The Fort Orange Roundtable is held the second Tuesday of each month (September thru May) at the Sand Creek Middle School, 329 Sand Creek Rd, starting at 7:00 P.M. Meetings are not held during the summer months of July and August. The June meeting is traditionally the Program Kick-Off for the upcoming program year starting in September and is normally held at a local park. For more information, see the roundtable page. All interested parents and volunteers are invited to attend.
The Monthly Roundtable is conducted by the District to provide the latest program and event information. It is also a forum for the sharing of experiences and resources among leaders and volunteers. The aim of the Roundtable is to provide the training and the skills necessary to conduct unit meetings and activities and provide a more enjoyable and interesting experience to our youth. Roundtable is an on-going training event to help you develope the skills, and learn new ones, to provide that spark of interest to the youth in the scouting program.
It is also fun - practical - inspiring - full of skills - loaded with techniques - brimming with program ideas. It is also a time for volunteers and parents to kick back and exchange thoughts and ask questions, meet district leadership and listen to interesting programs.
Committee meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month (during the School Year) at 7:00 P.M. at the Sand Creek Middle School, 329 Sand Creek Rd. Anyone is welcome to visit. If you are interested and would like more information, please contact the District Chairman.
